HCC-Arts Gallery,
Presents annually a ‘Young Artists Month’ exhibition in
gallery and in selected sites and business throughout town.

Scholarships and monetary awards given.
Submissions usually due in mid October. Work on
display from mid October to mid November.

various types- juried national competitions for adults, student shows, etc.
Mill Street Loft,
Offers classes, hosts a portfolio day. Has a ‘Teen Visions’ show in January of
work produced by HS students in its classes.
Has an annual show in the spring for high school seniors
in which they make the art work AND work on all aspects of mounting a museum
show.
They also have internship opportunities through the education dept.

A fairly new institution with both education and exhibitions in its mission
statement.
No specific mention is made of HS student exhibit opportunities, but it seems
possible that these could emerge.
Competition Opportunities
Scholastic Art &
Writing Awards. This is an excellent,
long-running (approx. 80 years) national competition with many awards (monetary
and not) available. Entry process is fairly complex and begins with
registration for your school some time in late fall.

Summer Program Opportunities
Marie Walsh Sharpe
Foundation. Offers a
number of different programs, including a free summer program for HS students
