Regional Art Educator of the Year

Each of NYSATA's ten regions chooses one outstanding art educator to be awarded a plaque at the Annual Conference. Criteria include outstanding contributions to the field of art education and service to the local and state organizations.

Section awardees compete for the state level award for the following year.

 

Region nomination due to Regional Awards Coordinator by February 25, 2012


Region 7 Art Teacher of the Year – High School Division

Candidates must be an active art teacher in Region Seven

Candidates must be a current NYSATA member

Candidates must make contributions to R7 that promote art education

Candidates must make notable contributions to their district art program  

Candidates must be nominated by a member in good standing.

Nomination must list and/or describe candidate’s contributions to art education.


Region 7 Art Teacher of the Year – Middle School Division

Candidates must be an active art teacher in Region Seven

Candidates must be a current NYSATA member

Candidates must make contributions to R7 that promote art education

Candidates must make notable contributions to their district art program  

Candidates must be nominated by a member in good standing.

Nomination must list and/or describe candidate’s contributions to art education


Region 7 Art Teacher of the Year – Elementary Division

Candidates must be an active art teacher in Region Seven

Candidates must be a current NYSATA member

Candidates must make contributions to R7 that promote art education

Candidates must make notable contributions to their district art program  

Candidates must be nominated by a member in good standing.

Nomination must list and/or describe candidate’s contributions to art education


Region 7 Most Promising Art Educator of the Year

Candidates must be an active art teacher in Region Seven

Candidates must be a current NYSATA member

Candidates must be in teaching position for 3 years or less

Candidates must make contributions to R7 that promote art education

Candidates must make notable contributions to their district art program  

Candidates must be nominated by a member in good standing.

Nomination must list and/or describe candidate’s contributions to art education


Region 7 Museum Educator of the Year

Candidates must be active Museum educators that work with K-12 schools in Region 7.

Candidates must make contributions that promote art and museum education within Region 7.

Candidates must make notable contributions in the museum education field.

Nomination must list and describe candidate's contributions to art education.

NYSATA membership is not required to be nominated for this award,

but membership is strongly encouraged.


Region 7 University/College Art Education Instructor of the Year

Candidates must be active Art Education instructors at a College or University within  Region 7.

Candidates must be an Associate Professor or higher to be considered for this award.

Candidates must make contributions that promote art education within Region 7.

Candidates must make notable contributions to their College or University.

Nomination must list and describe candidate's contributions to art education.

NYSATA membership is not required to be nominated for this award,

but membership is strongly encouraged.


Region 7 Partner in Art Education of the Year
Candidates must demonstrate a partnership with art education
within Region 7 through contributions of sponsorship or support of art programs.
Nomination must list and describe candidate's contributions to art education.
NYSATA membership is not required to be nominated for this award,
but membership is strongly encouraged.


Qualifications will be considered by the Region Seven Awards Committee.

Award winners and their district administration will be notified by February 25, 2012

and will be honored at Region Seven’s Annual Symposium

at SUNY New Paltz, Saturday, April 14, 2012.
