Student Showplace Opportunities

The second annual Art Symposium on the SUNY New Paltz campus
on April 21st, 2007, brought art teachers, students, and museum educators
together for 6 hours of workshops and collaborations.
The weather was perfect, the campus is an ideal place to hold an event like this,
and we all benefited from the excellent presentations.
This partnership between NYSATA Region 7
and the SUNY New Paltz Art Education Department is a winning combination!
Please check these links to review the depth and variety of the program.
Museum Workshops
Hands-on workshops

Dr. Margaret Johnson, Director of the Art Education Program at SUNY New Paltz, welcomes her students and art teachers from all over NYSATA Region 7.

The Parker Theater was filled for the keynote address by Sharon Vatsky, head of the Education Department at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

Between workshops, attendees had a chance to network and connect.

Students from the Art Ed Program at SUNY New Paltz served as guides and facilitators.

Over 20 workshops throughout the day in  Parker Theater and the Smiley Art Building.

Because of the beautiful weather, lunch "roundtable" discussions took place outdoors .
